For service, the Cherokee Phoenix chose Elizabeth Reeve , a CN citizen from Oklahoma City, and Sonny who has since 2008 advocated for people with disabilities through helping others understand
federal, state and local laws regarding the handicapped. She seeks to educate the public on community service and helps others learn servant leadership. Reeve has served as Oklahoma’s ambassador for the Foundation of Sarcoidosis and on the State Independent Living Council as well as the Oklahoma Rehabilitation Commission.

Former Miss Cherokee Julie Brison benefited from a service dog with the assistance of the Cherokee Nation
The Pioneer Art and History Museum in Colby, Kansas refused two of our service dog teams admittance because they said the dogs would break things. They made things worse by asking for service dog certification cards, which are against the ADA.
